I have been trying to install drivers and apps recently, I can't seem to get it right, so was wondering if there was a gui for it, as it is putting up a fight

Ubuntu should be easy on drivers, except for NVIDIA GPUs—use their separate packages. The platform includes a GUI app store for software and tools.

For apps, "Ubuntu Software" is the default option on your system. For drivers, "Software and Updates" provides access to the necessary drivers and popular programs. Less common options usually have guidance on their respective websites.
