Install two distinct hard drives in a dual-boot setup.
Hey, do you know anyone who's tried dual booting? I have a Windows 7 OS on an SSD and a separate OS X installation on another drive. Can someone suggest how to set up the system so it picks the right OS at startup? Right now I have to manually change boot priorities in BIOS, which is really frustrating. Are there other ways to do this without going into BIOS? Also, do both operating systems need to be on the same drive for easy selection?
I own a chameleon. I’m able to launch OS X smoothly. The issue arises when I set the boot priority to the Mac HDD, even though I can view the Windows SSD. It fails to locate BootMGR. To open Windows, I must restart the machine and adjust the boot priority to point to the Windows drive.
I understand this can be confusing. I wasn't sure about the drive priority settings either. Did you lose track of which drive was set as the boot priority?
I actually didn't do that. I wasn't having any problems, though—it's not certain. I'll continue to look further. Thanks for the assistance!
