Among a hundred million users, you’ll encounter individuals whose systems remain largely unknown—some using outdated software, harboring malware, dealing with viruses (though antivirus scans only address infections, not deeper system repairs). Others rely on faulty RAM, incorrect hardware, or non-original Windows versions, with modified files for specific purposes. High-end consumer devices have a reliability rate of just 97-98%, which is why server companies charge a premium to achieve near-perfect performance. That said, I’m not claiming Windows updates are flawless either. Given the vast array of hardware, software, and driver combinations, complete testing isn’t feasible. My advice before updating: ensure all drivers are current, including peripherals like printers, webcams, audio, keyboards, and mice. Also, make sure your antivirus and security tools are fully updated or temporarily disabled, then reinstall them. Verify that your games are up-to-date (this applies to versions prior to 1903, so skip if you’re already current). The main concern revolves around security fixes and anti-cheat systems that depend on exploits or unsupported APIs, which Microsoft collaborates with various anti-cheat providers to resolve—but affected titles must be updated. BSODs or failed updates can happen.
