So I need to mount a Web Filter 310 on a wall because we cant get a rack for some reason. The issue is the mounting holes only orient for rack mounting, not mounting sideways. anyone have an idea of how I could make a mount that would work? Im thinking some wood thing or something, but maybe there is a better solution. Thanks
I recommend a wall mount bracket suitable for 19" network gear, positioned correctly. They’re reasonably priced and come in various depths and load capacities based on equipment size. For units exceeding a few pounds, place a thin plywood sheet behind the device and secure it to the wall using drywall or plaster if needed. Check Amazon or comparable sites for patch panel wall brackets—you’ll discover numerous options across different price points.
I would place two posts—likely metal or wood—about 23.6 inches apart on the wall. This allows hanging the filter using the mounting holes, and you can drill holes in the posts to secure it in place. (Here’s a rough sketch I drew with paint.)
Sure thing! Those ideas are really good. I thought they’d cover things like that.
I need to examine those items. They're located in a narrow corridor with restricted room (I'm updating the layout). Appreciate you pointing them out. For now, I'm setting up a wooden wall mount.
