Install OS using just a USB drive instead of a traditional CD/ROM.
Hello, This afternoon I am building my new pc, and have been planning this for a while, I was just wondering in what ways I could install windows 7 to my new pc as it has no ROM drive, I had thought of using a Flash Drive, External Disk Drive or putting the SSD for the OS into my old pc, installing windows onto it, then putting it into my new build. Any ideas or tips are appreciated
You can create a Windows 7 installation USB that functions identically to the DVD, without requiring a physical DVD drive. Obtain the appropriate ISO file from the provided link: http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official...ads.12325/. All links lead to Microsoft’s Digital River services and downloading them is fully permitted. The installation will only complete with a valid license key, otherwise it will launch a 30-day trial. Use Microsoft’s official utility or Rufus as suggested, ensuring the USB drive is at least 4GB in size: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msus...vd_dwnTool and http://rufus.akeo.ie/. For further assistance, feel free to ask. Good luck!
