The Mod organizer for Oblivion doesn<|pad|> can not use .mod files. You’ll need an alternative method to install or manage mods. Follow these steps:

1. Download the Oblivion mod package you want.
2. Extract the contents to a folder on your computer.
3. Open the extracted folder in a text editor or use a mod manager that supports .mod files.
4. If the manager doesn’t support .mod, you may need to convert the file format using a third-party tool.
5. Place the converted or compatible mod into your game’s installation directory.
6. Launch Oblivion and select the new mod from the menu.

If you need further help, let me know your operating system and I’ll guide you through it.

You haven't been able to check at work. Have you checked the Gamer Nexus site? They have a big section on oblivion and if you search for omod, they’ll likely explain it on the mod page (though it’s not a mod itself, they have similar pages for mod organizers in Skyrim).
