I understand your situation. You have an old Windows Office 2007 CD and a newer gaming PC without an optical drive. You want to transfer the installer from your laptop’s flash drive to your desktop for installation. It’s possible if you move the CD to your desktop and copy the installer files there. Just make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.

I possess the identical office version you mentioned. From what I recall, you can just copy the CD to a USB drive, and Office will function either way.

Check if the version you're using works on Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 10 Pro. Those are the systems you're planning to use.

I own a version 8.1 that isn't fully pro, yet it functions well; Windows excels in backward support, so I expect it will too on 10. I’ll verify this soon, likely tomorrow during the developer preview.
