Insights into Fallout 4 before the full release.
This discussion might be a bit off-topic for this group, but many of you enjoy Fallout 4. I recently finished the game and really appreciated it until the final scenes. I chose to support the Institute, and the conclusion felt quite open-ended, emphasizing how quickly things can shift. That’s interesting, but the beauty of Fallout endings was observing the world’s transformation based on your choices. This one didn’t offer that kind of change at all. Did I end up with a disappointing finish?
I thought the second half of the story was completely unrealistic. Spoiler: The idea that Shaun is around 65 years old doesn’t match anything about the story before. It seemed like they rewrote the beginning without considering consistency.
Kellog didn't age from when he took Shaun out of cryo too when he was killed. We are given a view inside his head to find memories of the institute. Don't you think if he was somehow pushing 100 and knew Shaun had been out of cryo for some 50 years we would have seen it in his head? There is no evidence that the institute has the technology to extend the life expectancy of there people. If they wanted Shaun to be older then they could have made it work out with the story. It is just lazy, bad story telling. After all the hype for the game I was incredibly disappointed.
From my perspective, the ending wasn’t great. The best part would’ve been if you didn’t join the institute. By the time you see Shaun at the end, it feels like he didn’t care about you at all.
