Recently I bought a Asus ExpertBook B5, and I try to check the battery capacity by running
powercfg /batteryreport
to generate the
battery report
.
In the battery report, the installed battery section it shows
Design capacity:
66,000 mwh
Full charge capacity:
65,890 mwh
at the
recent usage
report, at 100% level, the capacity remaining shows 65,890 mwh
My question is, does this look normal?
Since the full charge capacity is not 66,000 mwh, only shows 65,890 mwh
(I assume it should be show full 66,000 mwh, am I correct?)

Seems fine with you, considering the small variation of just 110 mwh. However, this gap will grow as your device ages.

Thank you for your message. I'm curious since the laptop is brand new and it's been running for a few hours, and it seems like it's already dropped 110 mWh. It looks unusual for me.

Each recharge cycle gradually diminishes the battery’s capacity. The exact amount varies based on multiple elements, such as the quality of the battery. However, at the present pace, if nothing changes, the capacity will decrease as follows: 1 week – 110 mwh, 10 weeks – 1100 mwh, 100 weeks (2 years) – 11.000 mwh (~16.6% of total capacity). Continuing at this rate, it would take about 300 weeks (6 years) for the battery to lose half its original capacity. By then, the laptop is likely to become outdated and be replaced by a newer model. Is this something to be concerned about? Probably not, unless you intend to use it for a decade or more. Even then, if the battery fails or capacity drops significantly, the laptop can still function with a power adapter.
