Inquiry about RAM compatibility
Hi, your friend’s setup includes an ASUS PRIME B450M-A board with two Micron CT16G4DFS8266 modules at 2666MHz each. The HyperX FURY HX432C16FB3K2/16 kit has four RAM sticks at 3200MHz, but its JEDEC clock speed is 2400MHz. Combining the HyperX sticks would require matching their clock speeds to the Micron modules, which isn’t directly compatible. You can’t simply run the HyperX RAMs at the higher frequency without adjusting the system or using a compatible motherboard that supports both standards.
They operate at the standard minimum performance. You might attempt to boost their speed further. As before, results aren't assured—overclocking carries risks and success isn't guaranteed.
