You can use any UK extension cord for grounding your PC. Other devices may also be connected to the same extension. The cord doesn’t need to be switched on, as long as you turn off the power supply switch.

For proper grounding, connect the wall outlet directly to your power supply and ensure the PSU has a solid connection. Once everything is secured, touch the metal parts of the case for a complete setup.

In the US, these wires contain only hot and neutral conductors, leaving out the ground cable entirely. I’m not sure if the UK uses the same setup. Such wiring works for certain items like light bulbs, but it’s best avoided for your needs because grounding is essential.
