He uses a CoolerMaster NR400 with Ryzen R5 2600 (4.3ghz OC), Scythe, MSI B450m, Corsair LPX, and other components. He needs advice on whether to upgrade to a 5000 series CPU or if a 3900 should suffice for his tasks like wedding photo/video editing, character design, and light esports gaming.
5000-series won't fit on the B450 boards. If you're referring to the upcoming Zen 3, it will likely cause only a minor 10-15% IPC bump. Unless you're planning to wait roughly two months, a 3900x should suffice. A 3700x could also work, but it really depends on how the software uses its cores.
