I have some queries about setting up resizable BAR on a GPU that supports it. What I understand is that the Legacy boot must be turned off, the GPU needs UEFI-only booting, and the drive volume should use the GPT partition setup. People suggest reinstalling Windows if you disable Legacy boot, though results vary. My main concern is whether I can make a system image of Windows and use it for a fresh install instead of starting from scratch. I worry that this might just duplicate unwanted files.

I've turned it on and off and Windows has worked well. As long as you have a GPT drive, everything should be okay. You can reinstall Windows from Recovery Mode, though I believe it maintains the same file partition. Make sure to create a bootable USB using the tool provided by Microsoft. Ensure your system has a compatible CPU, motherboard, and GPU.

For a full system reset, a system image isn't enough. You should verify whether a reinstall is necessary. Are you able to recognize the motherboard brand logo only during startup, or is it also visible alongside the Windows logo?

I'm trying to prevent a complete system reset if possible. I understand the layout in my BIOS, but I just want to avoid turning off Legacy Boot and risking everything from Sunday. Good, I know my CPU and motherboard work together, but I need to check if my GTX 980 supports UEFI boot or if I should wait until I can get a new graphics card.

It's possible to revert it if needed. The 980 should boot via UEFI correctly, while the 970 may not.

My GTX 650 Ti Boost supports UEFI startup. If not, it would cause serious issues.

It's typical when CSM is turned off, as it affects the POST screen display.
