Really? Your only option seems to be removing everything by hand and wiping the files. Secure removal tools like CCleaner or Recuva can help. Back in the day, CDs made this process simpler, but now support info on HP’s site is often missing, which means you might be in a tough spot.

Using HP's recovery disc or partition aims to bring the laptop back to its original condition at the moment you began using it. It functions much like a clean reinstall, but all pre-installed programs and drivers remain intact.
