Hey, I have two Corsair Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM sticks (CMW16GX4M2C3200C16). They’re meant for 3200mhz, but using the XMP profile on my AORUS B450 Pro Wifi board with a Ryzen 5 2600X causes random blue screens and my game Warframe crashes. I think I need to fix it myself: first, I should check if I can install the newest BIOS update directly, not just the incremental ones. Apparently, some updates require specific steps unless they say otherwise. In my case, past updates had extra procedures before installing. Does that still matter for the latest version?

Second, I thought updating would let me run XMP without problems, but I learned the Ryzen 5 2600X only supports up to 2933mhz. How do I adjust that? I remember there’s a calculator for BIOS settings, but I haven’t used it in years and wasn’t sure what to do. I’m frustrated by all the confusing info about timings, voltages, and latency. Avoid manual calculations for timing. Use Ryzen Master to adjust memory speed and let other settings auto-set.

XMP is just a profile with timing, frequency, and voltage adjustments. It doesn’t mean you’re overclocking—your RAM is rated for 2133MHz, and if you run it faster or use tighter settings, it would be considered overclocking. The CPU may officially support 2133MHz, but that doesn’t guarantee it will run above that. There’s a Ryzen Dram Calculator, but its timings are very general and you can usually achieve much closer settings. Optimizing RAM timings takes a long time; unless you’re ready to spend weeks testing, sticking with your default settings and a 2933 or 2800MHz frequency would be better.

You might consider increasing the voltage a bit—like 1.4 or 1.45 instead of the default. Updating your BIOS probably won<|pad|> a bit, but I doubt it will unlock any special features. I really wish for a 2K FCLK on my 5900, but that’s not looking good. Good luck!
