After reviewing the information, I decided to set my Ryzen 5 3600 to 3600 MHz. It maintains that speed even when not in use. If the automatic clock control were active, power consumption during idle might differ slightly. However, with a 1050 Ti processor, gaming performance shouldn't notice any impact from overclocking.

Operating at 3.6Ghz in idle mode likely consumes more energy than the boost clocks when under stress. I recommend resetting to default and allowing the Ryzen algorithm to manage it.

It might be possible to reduce it further, as CPUs can lower their clocks when idle, even below the standard base speeds, to conserve energy.

It’s best to adjust the voltage manually near 1.2v (up to 1.3v if cooling permits) and observe stable frequency. The CPU consumes slightly less power with an automatic frequency range, though locking the frequency via the multiplier adds power-saving capabilities that help it operate at reduced speeds, lowering overall power usage.
