It makes only a small impact unless your GPU and CPU can fully utilize the added power. The guidance comes from an older discussion by @App4that: generally yes. Higher supported RAM speed improves CPU memory controller performance, increasing your odds of successful overclocks. As long as your motherboard allows memory overclocking and the BIOS permits desired speeds, it's essentially a matter of luck.

I'll give you a quick crash course. 1. It's better to have lower latency than higher frequency 2. It's better to buy higher tier memory with lower latency at the expense of frequency. 3. RAM overclocking will give you at most 7-8% improvement if your CPU can handle it and if RAM can handle it. Usually though, it's only about 3-5%. 4. DDR4 - look for 3200/3600 CL14. DDR5 - look for 6000 CL30. Samsung RAM chips are inferior and you should avoid them.. I think the better ones are from TSMC but I'm not sure. Higher latency memory is almost always from Samsung tho..

I have a 5600x and an Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming Mb. Previously, I could run RAM at 3700 MHz or 3800Mhz, but when I tried higher speeds the PC crashed and it didn’t run smoothly again. I’m unsure how to raise voltages or anything similar, possibly because of that. How can I boost voltage on a ROG BIOS? And what’s the safe voltage limit to stay under?
