Hey guys, I just have a question about starting up a new computer. Ive watched videos on how to build a computer and everything and im just waiting on my motherboard to come in. I have watched a few videos on how to start up computers and download everything to make it run correctly but one thought has gone through my mind. Usually when they start up pc's, the enter a harddrive with windows on it so it runs off of windows:however, I can get windows 10 for free because I am a college student. Can I wait to download windows 10 through the internet or do i need that harddrive with windows on it to make it run properly? If you have any questions regarding how i explained it or to get a better understand it, feel free to ask. Thanks!

You’ll need a USB stick under 4 GB, then download from Microsoft’s site onto the thumb drive. Insert it into your PC and transfer it to the hard drive. It should work smoothly once you navigate through BIOS, though using a SATA SSD on the USB will make it run faster.

Download the setup files from Microsoft, create a USB drive using Windows, and note that your storage device will be empty at startup.

I set up Windows using a bootable media from the Windows Media Creation Tool. Next, I purchase a key from the MS Store or Amazon and input it once the installation and updates complete.
