It's fascinating how attitudes vary across regions. In Brazil, such behavior isn't seen as wrong or immoral—it's quite normal. Regarding gaming, it's not as widespread but still fairly common. Probably because access is limited for people here; for instance, a full BF1 version costs 500 reais, which exceeds half the minimum wage. So I’d probably want to buy a legitimate copy, but when it’s only available on Steam and I have to spend a third of my monthly income on a game, or switch to torrents, the decision becomes clear.
It's interesting how buying pirated music and games used to be seen as less problematic back then. I still have a few copies from that era. But things changed in the late 90s. Now, with paychecks so low and platforms like Steam or Origin trying to match US/EU prices, it feels like everyone's scrambling to keep up. Otherwise, it would be a whole new round of VPN battles when the wealthy just undercut everyone.
