It's worth noting that No Man's Sky is available for free on Game Pass. I'm currently enjoying it myself.

It has turned into a wonderful experience. It's disappointing that it required many years for the creators to fulfill their initial vision.

It’s essentially a live-service game, but without the unnecessary microtransactions. It’s impressive how much content was included at launch without charging players upfront.

I clearly recall when they first released a list of promised features that didn’t make it into the game. I haven’t followed up, but I’m sure there are still many missing items and it seems to have shifted elsewhere. In my mind, space battles were especially important to me, and I think they’re still absent from what’s available now.
