This approach aligns with your request. Maintaining the lowest voltage levels is recommended.

I performed a brief check and noticed with an input of 1.9V the i7-6850K operates near 48°C under load at 3.8 GHz, using a core voltage of 1.05V and drawing 222W from the wall (0.93A × 239V = 222W). When the input drops to 1.42V, the temperature stays the same but power use drops by 12W (0.88A × 239V = 210W). From these results it’s clear input voltage influences power consumption and heat output, though the core voltage has a more significant impact.

I experimented with a 5960X on an X99-E WS and the system struggled with input voltages below 1.9V. Still, I managed to achieve a sub-1V power supply for a 3.9GHz OC. I hope you can replicate this, though it looks like the silicon is quite fortunate.

It's great to hear! Your 6850K operates well at 1.05V with 3.8 GHz, which is a solid performance given Broadwell-E's reputation for stable overclocking compared to Haswell-E. I was impressed you managed to reduce the input voltage by 0.38V below the standard 1.8V—this brought it into perfect stability.
