input problems with MMO mice
I have a brief update on the situation. I performed a fresh Windows installation and rechecked the problem in Deep Rock Galactic again; it appears to be resolved, which is helpful. So far everything seems fine. I began transferring all my data to this new install, and while I’m not entirely sure, it looks like the issue started after I imported the config files—those are kept locally, not backed up in the cloud—to restore my in-game settings. I’ll continue testing a bit more, but I believe the culprit is now identified as the game itself.
they conducted additional tests and discovered something noteworthy yet troublesome. initially, I noticed that running the game on a brand new Windows setup with only the latest updates, Steam, and the game files plus cloud saves didn’t trigger the problem. however, when I transferred the configuration files, the issue resurfaced. now, I attempted to revert to my original Windows installation, remove the game, and completely delete the Steamapps folder for the game, prompting a full reinstall from scratch along with cloud saves, just as I did during the clean setup. interestingly, despite these changes, the input issues persist. i still lack a clear reason why this occurred even in darker settings. i will continue investigating this matter.
alright, ive finally found the culprit. Its the software "LittleBigMouse" that is somehow causing the issue.
ive used that software for years and never had problems. and it wasnt some update either that broke it because its been abandonware since 2019. which also means theres not really any hope for it to get updated with a fix for my issue. i guess my only real solution now to have the best of both worlds is to just get a new matching monitor, because thats what ive used LittleBigMouse for before.
