I use a 16 GB (4x4) chip at 3000 MHz, it works well and if you have four slots you can upgrade later.
About three months ago, you had a kit ready. It came from a manufacturer I don’t know the exact name of. For a future-proof setup, you could consider a 32 GB module like the G.Skill Aegis 32 GB (two 16 GB sticks). It was priced around 150 USD on Newegg. I’m not sure where you purchased it from Greece.
I see your worries, but 16 @ 3000 is more than sufficient and will simplify things later on.
