You've got a complex setup with several components that have been updated over time. It sounds like your system has been evolving, which can sometimes lead to compatibility issues. The fact that you're trying different fixes—like reinstalling drivers, switching to Linux, and even rolling back GPU settings—shows how you're troubleshooting methodically. The recurring flashing screen and blank display suggest a persistent driver or software conflict. Given the hardware you've used (from older to newer generations), it's possible that outdated drivers or system updates are causing instability. Since you're open to suggestions, consider checking for any pending Windows updates, ensuring your graphics drivers are fully compatible with your GPU, and exploring compatibility tools like DDU. If the issue persists, reaching out to AMD support or a professional might provide clarity.

Hey there! Would you like to switch to a different GPU? Just keep in mind this platform is quite old—we're far past the peak performance era. Hardware issues might be more common now.

It seems the GPU might be the issue, but it functions properly with standard Windows drivers and also on Linux. I’ll attempt to use an older RX 550 that’s stored somewhere.

Oh no! The GPU is acting up again! The RX 550 was fine at first, but now it's not working properly. I might have to look for a cheaper upgrade or replacement on eBay.

GPU issues often show up only under heavy load. It might be time to swap out the old card and try a fresh setup, like a postit note explaining the problem.
