Initiated intermittent flickering accompanied by dark borders on the display.
Monitor: HP n246v | 1080p | 60hz CPU: i5 10400 (includes built-in graphics) GPU: Zotac 3070 ti OS: Windows 10 My screen began to flicker during normal browsing. Total War Warhammer 2 was open, but I was using alt+tabbing. Video uploads are available on YouTube for comparison: https://youtu.be/NI67C5cSyZc I’ve narrowed the problem to just the monitor. I replaced the HDMI cables and it didn’t fix it. Trying a different connection via VGA (the one included) also didn’t help. The port on the GPU is only HDMI and DisplayPort, so I can’t test VGA directly. Since the flickering occurs even when the PC isn’t powered on and before the BIOS splash appears, it’s not a hardware issue with the computer itself—this seems to be a monitor-related fault. Upgrading to 1440p might be worth considering given my GPU, though the planned upgrade is still several months away. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The monitor's backlight is not working. It seems you likely won't have many options other than replacing it.
Thanks for letting me know the deadline. Unfortunately, I can't extend the warranty since this is the only one I received after submitting a warranty request in 2019. I'm trying to fix it until I can upgrade, and I'm hoping it will last a while longer.
