I'm completely new to SSDs, so when the customer asked for a $1300 build I just added one. The machine starts up to the desktop in about 8.9 seconds... it powers off in 5.3 seconds! Although reboots still take around 20 seconds. Wow, that's pretty fast. I thought maybe 18 seconds or less, but it really is quick.

It's impressive how fast your laptop starts—10 seconds is really quick for a 7-year-old device!

I keep it on sleep so everything stays calm even with an HDD.

Launch your machine using the power button click to boot into Windows 8.1 fully operational in just six seconds, tailored to your setup. This performance is achievable with certain ultrabooks running on a high-speed SSD.

Based on my knowledge, Elementary OS does not use UEFI, making it unlikely for the system to boot from power in just three seconds.
