Observed PC operating in IDE mode instead of AHCI. Attempted registry change for storahci from 3 to 0, but it was already at 0. Still using AHCI via BIOS despite setting storage value to 0. When switching to AHCI in BIOS, Windows shows a BSD error: Inaccessible Boot Device. It works fine in IDE mode, yet the issue persists with the storage setting. Any advice to resolve this AHCI compatibility problem?

Restart your system and enable AHCI during installation.

UEFI must be configured to a specific setting, and the drive should be formatted as GPT instead of MBR.

I resolved the issue by switching to AHCI in the BIOS, then compelling Windows to boot into Safe Mode where it automatically installed the AMD SATA driver. Restarted back to normal Windows, and AHCI remained active and functioning properly! The best part is, there are no more unexpected freezes or shutdowns on this machine. It’s running smoothly now.
