Initial Setup Encountered Memory Problem Trouble loading RAM during installation
I wasn't sure how you discovered the part number. This is the BIOS Revision List. The newest version is 2204, showing better DRAM compatibility. You beat me to it. That optical mouse was a bit of a distraction before I finished posting. Edited January 20, 2023 by An0maly_76 Updated with more details
Here’s a revised version of your update:
I just reviewed the RAM compatibility details. The first kit I purchased has the part number CMW32GX4M2 Z 3600C18, which appears to be unsuitable based on my findings (thanks for the helpful screenshot from @An0maly_76). In contrast, the second kit I bought does match the compatible part number CMW32GX4M2 D 3600C18. Despite this, I’m still seeing the amber DRAM indicator and not booting up, even with the correct RAM. I’ll attempt a BIOS update tomorrow and share the results.
Make sure to disconnect the processor during BIOS flashing. Failing to do so might harm it.
It's not enough to simply check if a part appears in QVL. You must consider the correct memory chip brand, revision, and board layout. Corsair often offers multiple combinations for the same model. Their guidance is available here: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articl...AIR-memory.
For your CORSAIR memory, the ICs used can vary even if the kits share a part number. Check the version printed on the sticker for details. DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 kits follow these standards: V3.XX uses Micron chips, V4.XX uses Samsung, and V5.XX uses Hynix. Ensure you select the same revision (e.g., 3.xx) to maintain compatibility. Intel may release firmware updates to support newer memory types, so keep your BIOS current.
