Initial Ryzen setup, memory concerns? Question about RAM compatibility and performance.
noticed the bios doesn’t show an XMP profile. I found DOCP which looks similar, but it doesn’t let the board post. I also tried manual settings at 3000 CL15 v1.35, but that didn’t work either. Am I having issues with my sticks or should I tweak other configurations to get Ryzen and RAM to communicate properly?
Which motherboard are you running? It seems the XMP profile isn't available. Ryzen should work well with 3000MHz RAM.
I made sure the bios were updated to the newest release, then why not increase the voltage on the sticks? XMP profile supports up to 1.5V, which is safe according to Robert Hallock at AMD, but try 1.4V. If that doesn’t work, confirm the sticks are placed in the correct slots as specified by your board (A2+B2).
The system is designed to handle up to 3600MHz, but I couldn't locate any details explaining the boot limitation. The recommended approach is to retrieve your RAM's SPD information using tools like CPU-Z, which can display metrics such as CL or tCAS. You might consider utilizing this data for overclocking attempts. Reaching out to your RAM supplier for assistance could also be helpful. Ultimately, testing your RAM on another platform and checking if the XMP profile functions should help identify any potential issues.
