Initial Release: Boosting CPU and RAM Performance
Initial Release: Boosting CPU and RAM Performance
I'm Leo, a longtime console gamer. My journey changed when I entered university and discovered League of Legends, along with the overall appeal of PC graphics and performance. In 2017, I upgraded to an older gaming rig for League of Legends—far superior to my previous setup on a burning MacBook. That investment paid off with a GTX 1050 Ti as a gift from friends. Recently, I decided to upgrade again, staying within budget while aiming for more AAA titles. My current rig includes an AMD Ryzen 5 2600, a B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard, Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (2x8GB), a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD, and the GTX 1050 Ti. I’m planning to upgrade the graphics card soon, hoping for better immersion in games like Doom or Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I’m curious if overclocking the CPU or RAM would help, especially since my RAM is at 2133 MHz. I’m considering whether boosting the CPU or switching RAM profiles (like 2933 or 3200 MHz) makes a big difference, and if graphics upgrades are the key factor. Thanks for your time—I appreciate any advice!
Looking for a GPU near $300? It depends on your needs, but options around that price range include mid-range models like the RTX 3060 or similar. Check current deals for better value.
It could have a minor impact since Ryzen prefers quick memory, though the difference may not be huge. It's still simple—just give it a shot for a slight advantage.
