Hey there, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my Dell Optiplex 3020 SFF. It has an i5-4590 processor and 8GB DDR3 memory (2x4GB). Recently, I started seeing artifacts during boot and a looping issue. At first, I thought it might be a bad memory stick, but when I swap or test one at a time, the problems only appear if the first DIMM slot has a stick in it. The second slot works fine. Does this suggest something wrong with my motherboard? Thanks for any advice. RenderedVideo-1.mov

A big part of what makes Dell OptiPlexes affordable is the MOBO models. I believe it’s because of those MOBO options.

Typical micro ATX boards work well with standard models.

Excludes sci-fi references. For proper functionality of front panel connectors, a Dell Optiplex SFF board is required.

I notice options available on eBay for $10 to $20, so I’ll consider one of those. Thanks!

Varies by model; previous build included only power and standard USB on the front panel. Adapters are readily available or simple to create.

It wouldn't really matter because these SFF motherboards appear similar most of the time.

I owned a Dell Vostro with an ATX PSU and motherboard. I believe the Op is available, possibly using these Mobo parts. I need a picture of the case since it seems non-standard.
