Initial RAM Inquiry
Initial RAM Inquiry
Hello, I need to adjust my understanding of the build. The maximum RAM speed listed on AMD's site is 2933MHz for the Ryzen 5 2600, but I’m aiming for 3200MHz. I’m worried it might cause issues, so I want to know if buying RAM will automatically begin at a lower speed like 2133MHz and then I’ll have to adjust it in BIOS. Also, does the motherboard allow overclocking for both RAM and CPU? What about the case, power supply, or any other components that might affect performance before I place the order? Thanks ahead of time.
CPU and RAM can be overclocked on B450 boards, but it's not advised. X470/X570 boards tend to perform better when overclocked. If you haven't purchased anything yet, I suggest opting for a Ryzen 3000 or holding off until the Ryzen 4000 arrives. The cost remains comparable, and you'll notice a noticeable improvement in speed.
