Initial PC setup: Windows fails to install because of a driver issue
Hey everyone, I just set up my first PC using the Asus B660M-A with Wi-Fi D4. Everything looks good in BIOS—GPU, CPU, storage—but when I try to boot from the Windows Installer USB, I run into an error: "A media driver your computer needs is missing." Microsoft seems pretty vague about what’s required. Got any suggestions? Thanks!
the display appears at a certain point during the setup process. it’s common to need to install the AHCI/raid driver for m.2 NVME drives at the disk selection stage. you can download and extract from the vendor support page, then place them on the installation USB. in its own folder, you’ll see the same option as when choosing a load driver on the disk selection screen.
USB load utility brings you straight to the installation screen, but issues arise when choosing the destination.
