I’m just starting out here and I’m trying to figure things out. My setup includes an I7 12700k, MSI Z690 A DDR4, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 2X8 DDR4 at 3600MHz, a WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 NVMe drive, and I’m hoping these details will help. I recently built my first PC but am having trouble getting past the BIOS. I’ve already downloaded the latest version for my Z690 A DDR4 board, yet I can’t boot from it. I want to use my 1TB M2 Gen4 NVMe SSD instead, and I’m not sure if that matters. It’s odd because the SSD appears in storage, but when selecting a boot device it doesn’t show up. I’ve removed all external drives to check if the internal M2 SSD would appear, but nothing changed. I’ve also experimented with BIOS settings a few times without success and searched online, but I’m still stuck. It seems like maybe I made a small mistake. No, it won't automatically bypass the BIOS. You'll need to download Windows onto the USB first and then connect it to your device. After that, Windows should install itself on the SSD as intended.

Use a USB flash drive with BIOS to connect, then proceed with the setup. No key required—can be handled later.

You’ve already changed the bios, but the system still loops back to them. After updating, the expected next step is to restart or reboot your device so the changes take effect.

Set up the operating system on the SSD so it can start. If not, it will go back to the BIOS menu. Transfer Windows from another computer onto a USB stick. Here’s the process:

The USB drive should have enough room for the Windows installation files. Check the exact file size and ensure your drive can accommodate it.
