System details: Msi b450 tomahawk equipped with Ryzen 3600X, RTX 2070, Super Corsair Vengeance 3600 MHz. This is my initial setup. I posted the screen, installed Windows, and connected via Ethernet. The cable and wall port functioned before with an Xbox and a friend's Chromebook. A mouse and keyboard are already on the motherboard, making it hard to pinpoint the issue. I've seen discussions about the IO shield leaving a tab inside the port, but I haven't encountered problems myself. Any suggestions would be helpful—I'd prefer not to abandon this build due to potential port complications.

Consider these options: 1. Change to a different Ethernet cable 2. Check the BIOS settings to ensure internal Ethernet is enabled 3. Visit the manufacturer's site and install the latest drivers 4. Utilize the firmware updater if available to apply the newest stable release.

Hi there! Find the downloads for your specific motherboard on the MSI site. There you'll likely see options for drivers and tools, possibly including LAN drivers needed for proper functionality.

I switched to a different cable, but it didn’t work. The BIOS reports everything is fine, but in the board explorer it doesn’t show the cable connected to the Ethernet port.

Examine the socket gently to verify there are no misaligned connectors.

No bent pins detected. I'm still working through the issue, but it seems like I might need to purchase a Wi-Fi adapter. Thanks for your assistance.

Have you verified your current bios settings and ensured they match the latest release from the Mobo maker?

You just installed the newest update onto a flash drive and connected it to your PC. You might want to start with BIOS or another boot method depending on your setup. Thanks for the support!

Varies by manufacturer of the board. Certain models include software to install it. Check the BIOS for an update feature or verify if it boots from USB and loads automatically.

After updating the latest LAN driver and restarting, the Ethernet port remains undetected.
