I recently assembled my initial PC without any problems during the build. However, the CPU temperatures were consistently around 60°C when idle and spiked above 90°C during gaming or coding sessions. I intended to replace the thermal paste by removing the original cooler, but it came off easily. After some attempts to twist it free, I managed to pull the CPU out completely. Now I have bent pins and was wondering if AMD offers repairs for such situations—even if it costs money.
And that's why you never force anything. Unfortunately there's no way to repair that. If you can gently, and I mean GENTLY, bend the pins back in place, you may be able to save the CPU. Otherwise, you will have to buy a new processor. Zen 2 runs hot on stock cooling. My 3600 hit 88C on the stock cooler and hits 75C on an AIO so you're not alone there.
Consider adjusting their position. Some components are merely ground pins and don't matter much. Start the system and see if everything functions properly; if it works without issues, it should be fine. Adjust the cooler again and reapply thermal paste.
Thanks for your messages. I also adjusted the frequency to 3000MHz so it stays near 70 degrees. I had to force it because the cooler screws seemed stuck to the board. Hope AMD can help me fix this, even if it costs money. I’m a bit disappointed since it’s my birthday tomorrow and this happened with my first build. Lol. Thanks.
