I encountered an issue with my front USB port not functioning properly. I’m trying to figure out if there’s a more serious problem. From the image I found, it seems the pins are touching the header, which could cause a short circuit. The IntA_p1_SSTX pin might be making contact with the ground underneath. This looks concerning, so I’d appreciate advice on how to address it.

It’s tough to propose ideas without a visual reference. For bent pins, a tiny blade or similar tool is often used to gently restore its shape. Just be careful—over-bending may cause damage.

The camera isn’t great, making it tough to capture clear shots. Those pins that seem to touch are bent back into the header near the ground. Fixing it seems risky, especially since I’m not skilled, so I’m worried about damaging anything if I try.

It’s fine if you prefer not to attempt it yourself, but you’ll likely need to take the motherboard out of the case for better access to the header (unless your case is very large). This doesn’t involve any trickery. You may need to use sewing needles, a precision screwdriver, or small pliers to straighten the pin carefully without damaging it. Ask someone skilled in precision work or visit a repair shop—they can handle it properly. If the pin is excessively bent and breaks, replacing the header might be an option, but delicate soldering requires specialized tools and expertise. Check if the board is old; contact customer support and request an RMA if needed. Good luck!

Thanks. It is a new motherboard. I probably damaged it so don't think I would get a replacement from them.

It's free to call and inquire. They might refuse, but at most you'll receive a complimentary return shipping label. Good luck!
