Initial experience with overclocking my gaming PC. Questions. Please read all text! :)
I’m attempting to increase the clock speed of my EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0. I understand it’s possible since my system supports overclocking and has solid cooling. I followed a link from a user named portofdismay, who uses the same card. I experimented with his settings, focusing on the main thread and ran tests on several games like Fallout 4, Dark Souls 3, The Witcher 3, and Rocket League. The results were promising, so I increased the voltage by +5 and achieved overclocks of 125+ for core clock and 245+ for memory clock. However, after testing, I encountered crashes and artifacts in some games the next day. I adjusted the voltage back down slightly and raised it again, but now I’m considering whether to keep tweaking or focus on other adjustments. It’s important to note that only the +110 value is visible here; others like Core boost 1524 and Memory 1915 aren’t showing up clearly. Should I continue adjusting the voltage or should I reconsider my approach?
