I recently built my first computer and am very pleased with it, though I haven’t overclocked anything before and the numbers don’t seem important to me since I’m new to this. To achieve a safe boost without risking damage, would anyone be able to advise on how to proceed with an ASUS Z270 BIOS for OC? Thanks.

You're unable to proceed. The CPU is currently locked, and only the 100 series chipset supports using an older BIOS for overclocking non-K CPUs via BCLK, according to what I understand.

There are several discussions online suggesting otherwise. Are they all incorrect? lol

Z170 supports an older BIOS with BCLK overclocking capability. Z270's BIOS already has this feature turned off.
