Infrequent crashes during BIOS update process
Hello, I'm experiencing intermittent BSODs after switching from my old x570 to a new b550 motherboard. I reinstalled chipset, audio, LAN and some related drivers. The problem seems to happen immediately when I enter the login pin. Could this indicate a need for a Windows reinstall? I've attached the WhoCrashed report for both incidents. Also, I've heard that fully populated slots of high-frequency memory on Ryzen can cause stability issues, though I haven't noticed any myself. The PC works most of the time except for those two random BSODs at login.
Usually you're expected to handle that already. Jumping boards aren't built into Windows—it's just something that occasionally appears. Even though Windows doesn't need to function perfectly, it can still operate sometimes. It might work without issues, but other times it can fail.
Sfc confirmed no issues detected; disk status is normal at 98%. Planning a forced update to Windows 11 prior to reinstalling.
Updated using an offline patch that reinstalled hardware components. No more crashes have occurred.
