Hello everyone, I'm just starting out with PC building and have run into some booting issues lately. My system worked perfectly a week ago, but now sometimes it won't start at all. When it does power on but fails to boot, two warning lights appear near the CPU and RAM slots. I recently turned on XMP for my RAM, which in the BIOS lists 2400MHz as the default speed. I thought this might be the cause, especially since I read online about it. After updating the BIOS to its latest version, the problem persisted. I also ran Memtest86 with four passes and no errors, and my motherboard's memory list confirms my RAM is recognized. Right now I'm using the default BIOS settings, hoping the issue will disappear. My build includes an i7-12700K processor, Gigabyte Z690 Aero G DDR4, ASUS TUF Gaming motherboard, RTX 3080 V2 OC, and a Noctua NH-D15 cooling system. I've even tried reinstalling Windows to rule out driver problems. Please help me understand what's going on. Thanks a lot!

I thought you verified your RAM compatibility with the board's QVL list, but I just confirmed again and it wasn't found. Unclear which list you're referring to. Manufacturers usually say their products work as long as they start up a few times. Your RAM might be the problem. I faced similar issues with non-QVL RAM. Still, consider swapping your current RAM for ones listed on the QVL for your board, available here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z69...ort-memsup. Also, verify your XMP/DOCP settings in BIOS. In short, my B550 board didn't accept the Ballistix I used originally, and DOCP couldn't recognize the correct timings from the replacement RAM, even though it was on the QVL list. I had to adjust the timings manually, so you might need to do that too. Edited August 22, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated with more details

I faced the same issue with the 12th generation setup. The majority of fixes occurred when using slots 2 and 4. I don’t understand the reason behind it.

Hello, Yes, you're checking the DDR4 model as your system is built for that version. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z69...ort-memsup It's interesting that it appeared on the list despite being listed there. The recommended timing was confirmed in XMP mode, which adds to the confusion. I'm trying to figure it out by testing each stick in XMP mode to see if the problem recurs.

You're referring to the new version with the A2 and B2 slots, which the manual suggests. However, the updated model still has some issues.
