Increasing RAM leads to improper functioning of Windows.
I acquired a used all-in-one Acer PC from a thrift store. It had only one RAM slot filled, so I purchased another identical model on eBay and installed it. It starts up normally and functions seem to work, but the Windows interface and related features are non-responsive. The start menu, settings, network options, volume control, and notification button aren’t working. Everything else operates correctly, though the Windows and volume keys remain unresponsive. Right-clicking still opens the menu, but actions don’t execute. The Windows and volume buttons on my keyboard are also unresponsive. After removing the second RAM stick, everything functions properly. Someone can share insights on why this happens or suggest a solution? I’m unsure if it’s worth using now. I’ve included details about the PC model and specifications.
The process involves installing the new RAM stick and ensuring it is properly seated before powering on the system.
I changed them, it displayed blue a few times, then it started working properly again. Appreciate the assistance!
Use PassMark Memtest86+ to check your RAM performance. It could indicate a problem.
