Hello everyone, I just installed the AMD Ryzen Master app and it automatically adjusted my CPU voltage to a high level (around 1.47V). This caused my CPU temperature to rise to 61°C even though the load was only 20-30%. I’m trying to manually set the CPU clock instead of using the default option. After launching a game, it appears to override my manual settings and switches to automatic mode with voltage over 3.6GHz, which feels like an overclock without any reason. I’m not sure if this is intentional or if AMD has a feature for this. The BIOS settings remain at their defaults, even though Precision Boost Overdrive is disabled. Could someone clarify if this behavior is normal? Thanks for your advice!

- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6GHz
- 32GB DDR4 RAM
- GeForce RTX 2080 Super (msi-Edition)
- MPG X570 Gaming Plus
- Motherboard: Windows 11 (latest)

- Power supply: 11W

It's okay to adjust the voltage, but for precise tuning you should use PBO and set a negative curve offset. The 3700x can be boosted up to 4.4 GHz at stock settings. The voltage shouldn't damage your CPU unless it's operating at very high levels (above 1.45V) with full core utilization; I wouldn't be concerned. Ryzen chips tend to run warmer during idle, which is intentional—modern Intel processors follow the same approach.

The i7 1165G7 matches this observation—even when idle, using throttle stop to reduce speed to 0.9 GHz while idle, it remains around 55°C.
