I think the gap between 30 and 60 frames per second offers a noticeable edge in fast-paced shooters. The shift from 60 to 120 fps becomes less obvious, though it’s still perceptible after extended play. Many players wonder if shooting at over 100 fps provides a real benefit compared to 60 fps.

The screen is the key factor. On a 60Hz screen, the visuals won't stand out much regardless of frame rate. But with a 120Hz or higher display, frame differences can really impact the experience.

I don’t see the distinction in some games, yet in others like CSGO I can spot the gap between 60FPS and 120FPS, and even 120FPS to 200FPS. Personally, I need to maintain 200+ FPS constantly or I can’t play; it’s the key difference between securing a pick and missing one.

What's going on? Some Overwatch players aren't fun to play at high frame rates. Even at 144, it starts to get frustrating when you drop to 110 FPS, and some characters seem sluggish or unresponsive.

Dell s2417dg 165hz gsync Yes, it's possible. However, I mostly play R6S and haven't seen much improvement since switching from 1080p 144 fps to 1440p 75 fps. Agreed, it does matter for CSGO but seems to be the only shooter with that impact.

I haven't played Overwatch, so I'm not familiar with it. But from games like Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield 1, I've seen a shift in how smooth the gameplay feels. It hasn't hurt me much compared to before, and I'd say I'm performing well overall.

I'm not claiming I don't see any changes, but I don't think these improvements are worth the effort for a better player. Clean sound and map understanding matter more to me.

A faster refresh rate doesn’t enhance your abilities as a gamer. However, an expert would still gain advantages from it.

No matter what I say, I’m sure gaming at over 120 frames per second is truly impressive in terms of immersion. Even with my high-resolution monitor, I still enjoy playing on a lower resolution one because it gives me the right experience.

Certainly, though I believe individuals often exaggerate the advantages to appear greater than they truly are, that’s probably my main takeaway.
