Increased CPU usage during gameplay
Is the game (or games) installed on an SSD? If so, is there at least a decent bit of free space on said SSD? You could try using DDU to remove the video drivers and reinstalling the latest. What version are you on at the moment?
You're checking if you're using a new Windows version or if you've upgraded to the 3600 and B450 board while keeping an older Windows install. It seems unusual that this issue only appears in Riot games, possibly linked to their anti-cheat system and your hardware setup. I haven't tested 451.67 yet, but 451.48 caused problems for me, so I'm sticking with 446.14 for my video drivers. I'm hoping the latest update has fixed some of these issues.
I've mainly seen this in Riot titles. I also play Forza Horizon 4 and Satisfactory, which consume up to 80-99% of my GPU while stressing the CPU too. That makes me think it's not due to a poor power supply or problems under heavy load. I upgraded to B450 and 3600, but I'm not sure if Windows was installed properly afterward. This would be my final option since I don't have a backup drive and I'll look for a workaround. Still, I'd like to explore other solutions before reinstalling Windows.
DVR is fortunately disabled. I plan to install a new one today or tomorrow, maybe. There doesn’t seem to be another cause either. I’ll keep you posted on what happens. I’m also discussing with RIOT developers—they could help identify the problem (hopefully).
Newly set up Windows with all drives formatted. Drivers will be reinstalled soon. I’ll keep you updated on the progress later this evening.
Reflecting on the initial setup of my old Windows version, it happened after I added a new CPU... but the latest installation resolved the issue. Appreciate your guidance!
It looks like the problem has been resolved after a complete reset. I managed to play a few games without issues, and no new software was installed during that time.
