Increase performance of a non-K CPU on the B250M Bazooka motherboard
I'm working with a Core i5 7400 and aiming to push it to 3.3GHz on your B250M Bazooka. I've got normal temperatures, and I'm trying to boost performance a bit more. This is my first time overclocking, having only done it on a Q6600 BSEL mod.
For overclocking, obtain an unlocked CPU. On a locked Kaby Lake processor, the only adjustments possible are tweaking BCLK, which won't significantly boost performance.
B250 boards don't support overclocking capabilities. My brother's setup originally had a 7400 chip, which unfortunately limited the clock speed. However, you could purchase a used i5-6600 and trade in your 7400 for the same amount, potentially gaining a faster clock speed. This adjustment can significantly improve performance in games that previously struggled on the 7400.
I haven't encountered any other chipset providing BCLK tweaks after the LGA1151v1 release. Power limits seem manageable, though you can adjust them if needed.
It seems like you're expressing confusion about the B250. Let me know how I can help clarify!
