Hi there, I recently assembled my PC a few months back and the performance numbers are quite low. The setup includes a Ryzen 7 2700X with a stock cooler from ASUS Strix RX580, paired with two 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB modules at 3200MHz each. I added another identical 8GB module so all four DIMMs were filled. When I tried to boot, the system kept looping. After three failed attempts, the BIOS reset and it finally started Windows. The frequency was adjusted down to 2333MHz. In iCUE I updated the firmware on both new modules, then re-entered the BIOS where I set the frequency back up to 3200MHz, adjusted latency, and set the voltage to 1.35V. After rebooting, it looped once more. When it reset, I experimented with various memory speeds until it stabilized at 2666MHz. I’m curious if anyone has insights on why this happened or any solutions that could help me run my RAM at full speed. Thanks ahead!

2700x works best at around 2933mhz. When you set four volume controls, it reduces the likelihood of hitting that maximum speed and anything higher. Usually, you trade off speed for storage space. This has been the case for a long time, not just with DDR4.

Focus on refining memory clock speeds for better efficiency under slower conditions. Target around 2666 MHz, possibly requiring a slight voltage increase, and consider testing at 1.350V for stability.

Hello, your understanding of memory timings and voltage is limited. Are there other aspects you need to adjust, such as the CL timing?

You can adjust all key timings that matter most. I’d suggest starting with 14-14-14-14-24. Of course, test one at a time and check stability during each change. Memory voltage should be around 1.35V, which works fine.
