Well, this change from the Ryzen 7 2700X to the 5700G has definitely thrown things off. Back then, I had nice temperatures during rendering, rarely exceeding 76°C in powerful machines, with a room temperature around 26°C. Now, the temps are soaring to 86-89°C in just seconds, and the fans are running wildly. I kept using the same 140W heatsink, applied fresh paste, installed a new high-pressure fan, and used the same case with the 120mm intake and exhaust fans. The situation has become quite challenging. I assumed a lower TDP CPU would generate less heat than a higher one, but now it seems the numbers don’t match up. Maybe the stated TDP values are incorrect?

The TDP is accurate. Cezanne measures 7nm, significantly more heat-dense than Pinnacle Ridge at 12nm. Also, confirm the package power reporting and ensure PBO isn't active. The actual power limit (PPT) for a 65W (TDP) component is 88W.

The TDP is accurate. Cezanne measures 7nm, significantly more heat-dense than Pinnacle Ridge at 12nm. Also, confirm the package power reporting and ensure PBO isn't active. The actual power limit (PPT) for a 65W (TDP) component is 88W.

The reading matches what you expect, as your Hardware Monitor displays both actual and adjusted temperatures. It makes sense that it runs hotter compared to older models. You might want to consider a more robust heatsink. Since your 140W unit is already struggling, you may need something closer to 200W for better performance. Given your setup, air cooling seems preferable over liquid cooling, especially since the fluid could boil under continuous rendering loads.

It's typical for Cezanne to operate at a higher temperature than Pinnacle Ridge. You don't require a larger cooler; simply maintain warmth and adjust the fan settings for quieter operation. The temperatures remain manageable.
