I own the wiring for my home’s rooms connected to a central patch panel in the basement. All network gear—modem, router, switch, and NAS—is mounted on a rack. I’m using Open-WRT on an old Wi-Fi router to act as an access point outside the closet, but it keeps dropping and needs frequent restarts. The signal coverage is poor too. I’m thinking about switching to AP mode, though I’m unsure if POE support exists and that could complicate things. I’m hoping for a solution I haven’t heard of yet. Thanks for the link!

Asus offers a router for $99 with mesh capabilities. However, there are some other problems to consider.
