During a Prime95 test, the peak temperature reached was only 52°C. I'm using water cooling, though it's not a powerful system—it's a basic 120mm Radiator "Corsair H60 SE". This is making me wonder if CPUID might be giving me wrong information. If I look at the Vcore in the BIOS monitoring area, it matches closely with the hardware monitor from Gigabyte (the SIV one). As shown here:
I think BIOS and SIV are correct, but I'm unsure why HWMonitor disagrees. It's quite surprising for Prime95.
Well, maybe it’s a good idea to look at some other HW monitors just to be sure. But honestly, it’s definitely unusual. I was doing small FFTs in prime95 for around ten minutes, mainly to check the Vcore. Still, today’s a pretty chilly day, so the tests will run at lower temperatures even if I ran Large FFTs.
In short, do you have any other HW monitors you’d recommend I check?
I've been running it for 15 minutes now, the highest CPU temperature reached was 45°C. I lowered the Vcore back to 1.125V just because the label showing over 1.5V seemed off-putting. OCCT is showing the same Vcore as the hardware monitor... Is there any way to confirm the Vcore accurately? This difference between software is really worrying me, and I'm not sure about overclocking until I figure this out. So the Vcore in SIV never reached 1.125v either...
I'm confused about this. Setting the Vcore to 1.200v in BIOS seems unrealistic, and I wonder why the temperature would rise so much under stress.
